British Police Probe Harassment of Kylie Minogue

LONDON (Reuters) - Australian singer Kylie Minogue has called in British police to investigate disturbing letters sent to her, police sources said on Saturday.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said police in west London were investigating an allegation of harassment made on September 18, adding that no arrests had been made.

The complaint was made on Minogue's behalf by her management after 700 threatening letters were addressed to her, the Sun newspaper reported in its Saturday edition.

The paper said the letters, bearing postmarks from western England, had been sent to the London offices of Minogue's record label EMI and to addresses in the west London area where she lives.

Former television soap star Minogue enjoys superstar status in Britain after a string of pop hits over the past decade including "Can't Get You Out Of My Head."

Earlier this year she launched her own range of underwear in London. Next month she is due to release a new single and album of songs.
