the young ones

any other fans of this rude 80s comedy series? mtv played it back in the early 80s every sunday night, and it was always the best part of my week. i thought it was the funniest thing on tv. anyway, i just came across the videos at a used shop and i'm loving it all over again. i've got 4 vhs tapes with 3 episodes each on them. my faves have to be nasty and bambi. 18 years later and i still think this show rocks. what a bloody talented bunch rik, vyv, neil and mike and don't forget whatshisname bulovski.
great performances by the damned and madness too.
headbang the young ones!

Yeah, the Young Ones rock.

Best episode: I think it's the University Challenge one where they're on the train and viv leans out the window as they're going under a bridge and looses his head!

Yeah and Bottoms was great as well, especially the vid.

Is the Young Ones popular in the States???

I used to LOOOVE this show when MTV played it back in the early '80s on Sunday nights, right before 120 Minutes (holy crap, remember when MTV used to be kinda hip sometimes?)...I watched it every week, even when it cycled into re-runs, and I taped every last stinkin' episode, which fortunately was put to pasture when the DVD set came out (YES!!!)

I even bought "Neil's Book of the Dead" and the "Bachelor Boys" book - I didn't move fast enough to get Neil's hippie music album, though. This makes me very sad.

Iloved it too!

NOSTALGIA! headbang

My Mum hated me watching it, she said it was rubbish, but it was f*cking excellent!

I wish there were more talented shows like this today...funny how we would rather watch old episodes of 20 yearold comedies rather thanthe shit they put on now...
