While I find it sad that he is dead, but just because he is a celebrity does not make it any sadder then the death of ordinary folks.

In the last few days in this area we had a five year old get shot in the face during a robbery, two high-school students get shot in gym class (one dead the other very critical), and a 21 year-old kid was killed fighting a war in Iraq.

On the other had Robert Palmer was 54 and a very heavy smoker which I am sure played a large part in his death. IMHO he got 30-50 more years then these kids did but I don't see two threads in the most active about them.

THANKU! Ive been thinking exactly the same thing, but just didnt know how 2 put it across.
U said it all buddy.

I'm tired to hear/ read the same BS each time that we're saddened by the death of a (celebrity) artist that we appreciate/like/ love - the day P will not be here we will all cry does that mean that we have no heart/ compassion toward the day-to-day tragedy of the planet?

'Might as well face it i'm addicted to love'

RIP
Robert Palmer
one of my fave 80's artists

sad

and to jn2...i AM saddened by the day-to-day passings of everyday people. unfortuantly i don't think many people would be able to grieve with me if i posted that my next door neighbors uncle passed away. many artists affect our lives, some of them help us get through difficult times in our lives either with their comedy (RIP John Ritter) or with their music (Robert Palmer,RIP Johnny Cash). personally i think its pretty shitty to degrade those of us who are affected by these deaths. I do believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for someone who is talking about compassion maybe you might want to find some for those of us who are upset by the passing of these great men.
you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel horny

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

A true symbol of the 80's. The sound he had can never be recreated.
