When are stupid comedy movies funny? Seems like there is a thin line between comedic movies that are stupid or hilarious. When is a stupid comedy funny, and when is it just stupid?
With Dumb and Dumber or Dumb and Dumber(er) with Ace Ventura or When Nature Calls or Something About Mary or David Spade movies or Adam Sandler movies or Will Ferrel movies or Scary Movie movies or Airplane movies or N. Lampoon's Vacation movies What makes Scary Movie 1 funny and Scary Movie 2 stupid? ---------------------------------

Sometimes the funniest are the ones that are stupid! The acting is so horrible, or the jokes, etc...You just laugh and wonder how the  did this movie ever see the light of day!! :LOL:

the funniest movie of all time (2 me) is:
DONT BE A MENACE 2 SOUTH CENTRAL WHILE DRINKIN YOUR JUICE IN THE HOOD. What makes this movie funny is that they make fun out of real situations or just hype them up too far... like in the asian store, this white man was stealing all this stuff, and he walked out and the cashier gave him more money, while this little chinese woman was following Shawn saying : "HURRY UP AND BUY!!" I remember crying laughing! Another runner up would be IM GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It certainly is a delicate balance. Sometimes folks just don't know when enough is enough. Too many times, it's all about trying to strike that chord again because it made such good money the first time when it's obvious that lightening is only going to strike once.
I thought Zoolander was hilarious to, but could they do it again in a sequel? I'm firmly planted in denial |
