i just came back from kowalski's market here in mpls--i went there to get a few groceries. anyway, i was over in the snack food aisle and i saw this can of peanuts--they're called 'jerk nuts' (yeah, that sounds so wrong ). they're peanuts that have this jerk chicken-type seasoning on it and it's got this description on the side of the can:

Flavor and heat combined.
The flavor of jerk and the heat of the habanero pepper! Remember to have a cold drink nearby!

...i'm sittin here right now eatin these, and these have absolutely no fuckin heat to 'em whatsoever!!! they're good, but no heat at all! grrr!!! also reminds me of last week when i wuz at work and had gotten this jerk chicken pasta salad for lunch...that wuz even worse!!!

m'gawd... it's just wrong!

If you want spicy, go to the ethnic grocery stores such as East Indian, Thai, Vietnamese etc. Then you get the "authentic" HOT stuff.
