If You Had The Chance To Move To A Different City Than Where You Currently Live Would You Do It? Why or Why Not?

I would gladly move away from Cleveland, Ohio if I had the chance. The job market here totally sucks, especially now that the steel plant was shut down, and after what happened on 9/11. In fact, a few weeks ago in the paper, there was a front page article talking about the job market being worse than it was during our last recession in 1992, and how people are moving to take other jobs outside of Cleveland.

I can't say that I blame them for moving out of Cleveland. If I had a college degree (which I don't), and I had the opportunity to take a job in a new city with a nicer climate (no snow), I would do it. The only thing that is keeping me here is my family, because I am close to them, but believe me, if I didn't have that close bond with them and a great job came along, it would be bye-bye Ohio.

What about you? Be sure to state where you currently live in your answer. smile

canada would be cool, i think, especially Montreal. i actually miss the snow and cold weather - here in Charlotte, NC, we only get limited snow, and it's typically gone in a couple of days.

I have a brother in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Carolinas are a nice area, I wouldn't mind living there. biggrin

cool - do you come to NC to visit anytime?

it's actually not bad down here, and the job market is still fairly good. i just miss winter - i can't wait for it to be cool enough to start a fire in the fireplace!

I would gladly move back 2 Minneapolis, mainly for obvious reasons!!

We used 2 live near the Twin Cities, before we had 2 emigrate back over here to the UK!!!

My heart is still over there and every time I hear or see anything about Minnesota or Minneapolis, either online or in the media, printed or on TV, a HUGE lump comes to my throat and I get really emotional!!cry sad

Unfortunately, I don't get down to NC as often as I would like, but I have been there a few times. NC is pretty, lots of beautiful pine trees all around. biggrin

The funny thing is, my brother and sister-in-law want to move to Cleveland so that they can be closer to us. It will be a big change for my sister-in-law, since she grew up in the Carolinas and has not seen much snow in her life. It's funny how people who never see snow much are dying to see it, and people who see lots of snow are dying not to see it. lol

I've moved loads of times, moved continent, country and city smile Once you do it once it gets a lot easier.

I'm really too fussy where I live as long as I can afford to have a reasonably comfortable lifestyle and can find interesting work.

Anxiety

When I lived in Indianapolis and wanted to move to New York City, that's what I did.

When I lived in New York City and wanted to move to Chicago, that's what I did.

So wherever it is I wanna go next, I'll probably wind up going there.

I have/had thought of moving back east, to the Virginia/D.C. area, to be near and around family... heart. There was--and is--a desire for them to experience me more fully now in my life...being within driving distance would help that occur more easily than the occasional cross-country plane trip would. My niece, however, during an 8 hour phonecall both talked me into it and talked me out of it without her knowing she did either...lol.

So...would I move to a different city if I had the chance?..Yep. Why would I?...Because there are too many beautiful places to experience life in the world to not realistically consider it. When would I not??...If my heart wasn't involved in the decision to move. Wherever I decide to go and whatever I decide to do within life, I want to know my heart will be there when I arrive...
