the woman in the first link didn't even need retouching at all, y'know...whoever invented retouching/airbrushing for pix of models needs to be dragged out into the middle of the street and have their ass beat.

I saw a media/advertising documentary. We watched it in my Social Psychology class. They showed how the digital artists alter the pictures of the "models". They made legs longer, changed skin tone, added color to lips all to create the "perfect" woman. You know what sucks is women go to plastic surgeons so they can look like these fake women do.

These links are great! Too bad we are conditioned to think that natural-looking people are undesirable and/or need "touching up".

Actually, I saw a tv show as well, where they went into a middle school classroom, and showed the girls AND the boys how they retouch photos. It is very important that both sexes know that what is shown in magazines is not "real" people.

Ofcourse the same is done when celebrities are posing for magazines, promo pics, album covers etc. I'd be hot too if I was famous and had my pics altered.
