HAPPINESS the movie HIGHLY recommened just for the sheer
absurdity of the father /son talks.

I am wondering how those father son talks were instructed. They are so graphic...did that kid know what he was reciting? If so, how did the producers and parents hash it out...or did they?
This movie is excellent. It's fucked up but excellent in portraying it's horrific disfunction. My favorite line as the family is sitting around the dinner table and Lara Flynn Boyle's character tells the sister "We're not laughing at you, we're laughing with you" to which the sister replied..."but I'm not laughing". 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Camera angle tricks...shot individually...boy and father were not in same frame when discussing the racier stuff.

Oh yeah, that little boy... That's a good point, I wonder what was going on there. That last scene is just so... ! The movie is soo demented. Not sure if I would watch it again.
