Sounds like a cross-over between the Vampire Chronicles and the Mayfair Chronicles...?

Another one? Well, Merrick was very good, so - bring it on! If that is the case. If not, I will now be very disappointed...

Agreed on both your views, I only read the V chronicles and Merrick, the other stuff I don't bother with.

Me highfive Scififilmnerd

Very often writers who write about vampires feel the need to bring in some S&M, my guess is that it's because the notion ov vampirism includes living for eternity, and most boundaries, limits and rules get washed out after a while, S&M is one way to push limits further. I am not attracted by it but neither am I turned off by it. These are things that Ms. Rice obviously felt the need to explore further since it hasn't come out in her stories, so she wrote some erotica including it.
I can appreciate the way it's presented as with all beautiful writing, but it can also be very boring (Thirst, by Michael Cecilione). Being a vamp buff I have to live with that part of it, it remains to be seen whether I'll feel the need to bring it into my vampire stories as well. smile A little pain and blood appears in my erotica, but not S&M wink

I only read the Vampire Chronicles. The last one I liked was Vampire Armand. The others after that have disappointed me

So you didn't read Pandora (published as a New Tales Of The Vampires but really a Vampire Chronicle) or Merrick (crossover with Mayfair Witches featuring Louis and Lestat's reunion)?
Then you missed out. Those are very good.
But then, I liked Blood And Gold as well, which I assume is the one you have read but was disappointed with?

I have all those. I liked Pandora, but I did finish Merrick or blood and gold. I didn't like Memnoch either. I should finish Merrick, but since I knew nothing about the mayfair witches, it lost my interest

I like the Mayfair witches sagas more than the Vampire Chronicles. Now that she has merged the two worlds I love it even more. It will be interesting to see how much Mayfair history she will give to bring everyone up to speed.
