In the Spring of 1999 I made a short film at school, and needed a name for the production company. I had previously used the name "Pelicula CAG" (Spanish for Film and my initials.) I wanted an homage 2 my 2 idols, Madonna and the Artist, and something with a Spanish flair. Thus Madartista was born as a prod. co. name, and it has become somewhat of an identity for me as well. I like it quite well!!! To my delight, I also found that one definition of mad, a la mad scientist, is "wildly gay."

I chose Funkaholic1972 because obviously I love funk! I stole "funkaholic" from a Dutch DJ called "KC the Funkaholic", I always thought it sounded very groovy. 1972 is the year I was born.

My avatar is just a picture I found on a site somewhere when I was fed up with the cover of "The Rainbow Children" (which a lot of other orgers were using as well). I believe the little orange bloke looks kinda funky and he is ready to "drop da bomb"!

I started visiting the org in 2000, back in the black&purple days (mainly as a lurker) and got hooked to it. I visit the org daily, and sometimes I fear getting fired because I spend way too much time here when I am supposed to work. Pretty sad, isn't it?

OK, my turn.

Name: Vina Blue. A Vina is an Indian Lute which Saraswati, the Hindu Goddess of Music, plays. Blue is my favorite color, but also the color of the throat chakra (energy center) which corresponds to the voice and creative expression. There is a lot more to the symbolism of this, but I'll stop there. Someday I'm going to put a detailed description of the name and the Goddess on my website. Here is a picture of Saraswati holding the Vina.


My avatar has changed many times. I had some sarasvati pics up, then Ganesh (another Hindu God), now I just have some art. It's called Brand New Day by Simon Bull. I just love how bright this pic is. It brightens my day just to see that purty yellow flower.
