I LOVE Anthony Goicolea, the guy is a genius.
Some of his images are unnerving:

Some erotic:

Some full of innocence:

Some fantastical (note the 2 boys in the foreground who have ironically drowned in a paddling pool!)

These are my 2 favourites though - a real haunting quality about them:

Where's The Blue Angel? He'd love this!

REDFEATHERS

oh btw...

Nick Grey makes ink drawings of an unimaginable visual and symbolic density.
He depicts a phantasmagoria of freaks, cripples, junkies, puppets, part-animals, disembodied eyes, louche tv-watching potatoes, and, on occasion, Christs, with an intensity of vision that injects the whole cognitive chaos with the poetry of a skid-row Dante.

Conjuring up deities of the graphic form such as Robert Crumb, Grey takes us on a trawl through a scabrously funny dystopia rich with arcane symbols and expressionist grotesques. Ravishing fluidity of line is also on display in such works as the waist-up sketch of a man in a turban that could safely be mistaken for the work of a Victorian illustrator.

With this old-fashioned mastery of texture and modelling, Grey's drawings do not simply compel with their squalid subject matter; there is an authority that takes them beyond voyeuristic immanence into visceral unease.

Even the humdrum domestic scenes contain portents of apocalypse, like the piece that shows a paraplegic woman and a man in a sordid room, a bisected corpse on the mattress between them.

Another portrays a tattooed man in an alley playing midwife to a junkie woman giving birth to a dog. These scenes both push conventional social and media horror of the 'underclass' into satirical extremes, and render vivid the inner workings of addiction and mental illness as dark dark cartoons.

Nick Grey believes there is a defect in his central nervous system that drives him to make art. big grin
