Is your watch a mere timepiece or a fashion accessory? I once read that a man should have at least two watches. It was probably some fashion fop in a mag. somewhere, but nevertheless. So do you have a knackered gas station freebee Casio that “does the job” or is it nothing but a bling bling Rolex for you? Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Moderator | I have two watches, they are time pieces, I guess, never really thought about it before In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

when i wore one, it was for both.
but i stopped wearing one, because a watched watch ticks slower and makes the day drag on forever.

My Dad used to always say that we look at our watches to see what time it isn't. not what time it is. I find that to be quite true. I never have worn a watch ~ never will ~ always seem to be where I need to be on time.
Phoenixxx ~ there are a couple things you could try for watches and allergies. One is to coat the areas that tough your skin with clear nail polish or lacquer. You will have to redo it from time to time and it doesn't work for everyone. Also, if you have a watch made of 10kt or higher gold (not filled or plated) a good jeweler can do a process called rhodium finish which is basically a platinum coating over the metal. As long as the time piece can come out of the watch, it should be a relatively inexpensive process and hardly anyone is allergic to platinum. Hope one of these works for you!

My watches are too expensive to wear, so they stay in the box.
In the meantime, I just ask other people what time it is. Man...if the org ever discovers this thread, you're gonna BURN. --Teller

Both. I have two. One is a really cool Swatch that my husband got me. It's blue and white and has a water/wave pattern. The other is a nerdy black calculator watch, which I love.

I have a silver and gold Seiko analogue quartz. It looks nice, but it's just there to tell me the time. I hate going anywhere without knowing the time.

Watches are like a fetish for me...I have six of all different styles and nature...Got a Guccie from the eighties that I still sport from time to time.. a bulova from the '40's I got from my uncle when he passed..it works as well! A Storm from Australia. A guess diving watch I found after a fight in a club in Philly...LOL A citizens as a gift and went perfect with "Corporate Dex's" attire. Another one I "just" got last night after another fight at a club where I bounce at! I don't really care for the namebrand...I do pick them for their uniqueness and quality. Oh, crap! I just typed this long confession about my obession with watches, but it got lost! And I'm much too lazy to re-type it. Guess that's a good thing 'cause then everyone would probably see how much I need therapy when it comes to this fetish.

I always wear a watch. I have two, both Citizen Eco-Drive's, one silver and one gold.
This may sound silly, but I always check out peoples watches. I've met alot of guys who dress like they're all rich and sucessful, but 90% of the time, only the ones with nice watches are tellin the truth. That, and you never know when some hot guy/girl may stop you and ask you what time it is, its a great ice breaker...
