Thing is...none of them have left The Matrix, that's the killer. They all belive they have left The Matrix, in fact it's a matrix within a matrix, which is why Agent Smith (a computer program) was able to leave the matrix and enter "the real world". It wasn't real at all, just a program within a program...which is also why Neo was able to sense and killed the Sentinals...he's realising that he hasen't left the matrix at all.
