Had he lived...

I was thinkin,
with all the rappers that have dipped in the acting pool
there are very few that cut it. THAT SAID. I was thinkin about Tu Pak and where he was headed in the whole thing.

When you look at the direction his acting career was taking
where do you think he was headed?

Juice
Poetic Justice
Above The Rim
Bullet
Gridlock'd
Gang Related

The pogression of his characters was was evident through the years. In Juiced (his acting debut) he was a kid, and of course, he was a Thug in the making. Throughout the rest
of his career (except for Poetic Justice) stayed in the
Thuggish catagory.

Now me, I think he may have well been able to pull off the roll of the 'streetwise'; Lawyer, Teacher, Political Figure,
Banker, Miltary Higherup, Doctor, or Religious Leader.
These are parts that take some versitility and skills, and
he was possesed of both.

actually, he had some strong promise as an actor. normally singers trying to act really annoy me, as more oftenthan not they are horrid at it. there are a few exapmles to the contrary, and he was definately one of them. he had a lot of potential

Macy Gray (yeah Macy Gray),and LaTeafa(?) Have done well
in various rolls.

"Nothing could have stopped this man, he was on top of the world making movies and receiving good reviews and getting better acting jobs. Three days after he finished making "All Eyez On Me" Tupac began work on Makaveli: The Don Killuminati". Tupac never lived to see the album being put out. He died due to gunshot wounds. He and Suge Knight were attending the Mike Tyson Vs Bruce Seldom fight at the MGM Grand In Las Vegas, Nevada on the September the 7th, 1996. After the fight in the lobby, one of the staff from Death Row spotted Orlando Anderson. He was a crip who stole one of Death Row's chains. They attacked him and then stormed out of the MGM. Pulling up to an intersection, Tupac and his entourage were on their way to a charity concert at Death Row Records Club 662. When, suddenly, a car pulled up to the right of them. The men got out of the car and unloaded their guns into the car Tupac and Suge were in. Tupac lived in the hospital for seven days before dying to his wounds. Out of all the people there only one came forward who was the member of the Outlawz, his name was Kadafi. He also died, on the night of a Tyson match, he was shot, by Napoleon's cousin in the head apparently they were both drugged up and it was accidental."

Could had screwed up his image. If Prince had died right after purple rain he would be remember as a god, same thing with Michael Jackson. Now both are the butt of jokes more than anything. Sometimes the early exit is best for history.

I'm not well versed in Tupac's acting as much as I've heard his music (which I won't get into here out of respect for your thread biggrin ), but what little I did know about his roles he seemed to have more potential as an actor than a rapper. Usually with rappers/singers moonlighting as actors the reverse is true.

Again, so on point.
As an actor he possesed more versitility than as a rapper.
Only his words were prolific, his style may have suffered a really long run, making him wind up being good only on colabarations.
But as an actor he could have really streached out and done some things. I'm willin to bet he could have pulled off Othello.

"At the age of 12 Tupac found a passion for acting and writing poetry. Afeni enrolls him in a Harlem theater group. Tupac plays Travis in 'A Raisin the Sun' as his first performance."

"Tupac and his family moves to Baltimore, MD, where he attended at the Baltimore School for the Performing Arts. There he meets Jada Pinkett who becomes a close friend of Pac's. Tupac left a lasting impression on his teachers and was showing tremendous potential."

You know Pac was supposed to play the role of Old Dog in Menace to Society til his fallout with the Hughs bros... it probably would have catered to his thug image but few of us realise that he could very well have handled other future rolls!! He had a lot of character!! More than most can imagine or expect. My friends sister did wardrobe for Pacs last two movies and spent a lot of time conversating with Pac... She said the thug image was something he was caught up in at the time and he was far more advanced in his thoughts and ideas than most would imagine...

Contrary to popular belief, He was a well read brotha with a bent for philosophy which can be directly conected to his mothers militancy.
I kid you not. I believe that by this time he could have played ANY part given him and, played it well.

Oh, and he KNOCKED THAT MUTHAFUCKA OUT!!!

I think that if 'Pac had lived, he would have left death row and the thug life. I agree that he would have embraced more of his mother's millitant views. I read that he was planning to leave death row because of all of the negativity and also because they screwed him out of a lot of money. You guys should check out the "Biggie and Tupac" movie or the book "labryinth". It seems that Shug Knight had them both killed...Pac because he was leaving death row, and Biggie to make it look like the "east coast vs west coast" retaliation thing. Shug knight is no joke. He had LAPD on his payroll. That's how they got away with it. Ask yourselves...how can one get killed on the Las Vegas strip, on a Saturday knight, on the knight of a Tyson fight, and that murder not be solved. You know how damn crowded the Vegas strip in on a regular knight??? How can they not solve that? Same thing with Biggie...tons of witnesses. disbelief I think that 'Pac would have been a massive revolutionary had he lived.

I too believe that Suge played a part, but only as being instrumental in helping biggy put the hit on 2Pac, then
I would supose that there would be reason for him to silence
biggy after that. Shit, the way puffy be givin up his folks,
it wouldn't be suprising to find that he and Suge worked out the biggy thing.

I have many opinions about the mystery of both Pac and Biggies killings... I am almost afraid to say it here or anywhere... But let's just say those were direct hits!! Somebody got paid high dollar to make those deaths happen in a way that they would not get caught... To me Pac was a sort of modern day MalcomX and I strongly believe that his killer/killers had the same capabilities as the ones who killed Dr King, Malcom, JFK, etc... Many of us loved these peeps but to some they were pests... Pac said in the Killuminati album "I'll probably get murdered for this shit I wrote" This shit is deeper than we may ever know... Pac was born into a Panther Family... he went from havin nothin to becomin somethin!!! He spit at media cameras, and flipped em off after being shot...he was ostill out on bail when he was killed...he often spoke and rapped about the prices on his head yet I think his death may have stemmed from more than his beef with Biggie... I could be wrong...

Tupac... damn still breaks my heart that he ain't around any more.

You know what? I think his acting and his lyrics showed that he was WAY too big a talent to be classed in that dumbass "thug / gangsta" category. Such a shame that he got mixed up with morons like Suge Knight... Tupac was 10 times the man any of these idiots were.

Imagine the shit that Pac would be doing now if he was still around... his acting career definitely could have gone further, and I reckon he'd be writing a few books too and releasing more music. I always hoped he'd become a bit smarter about working the media to his advantage as a medium and become the kind of communicator that Chuck D is, all around the world.
