hopefully the producers were on crack when they have thought of him as a decent director, even if I don't really care about the Superman character
I've only read volume 1, it's terrific! The movie will be released next summer. * [This message was edited Sun Sep 7 3:49:57 PDT 2003 by jn2]

there's a Rawhide Kid series out now... in which the Rawhide Kid is now gay. which would be interesting, except that it's written by a hack, who no matter what he and his cohorts tell you are his credentials in television and elsewhere, do not make him a good writer, nor even a good comic book writer. A gay lead character? Well I guess it had to happen eventually. It all sounds a bit gay to me though. Oh wait, it is... Well I won't be buying it, in case I catch The Gay from it Japanese comics have dealt with more grownup themes like that for many many years anyway. It shouldn't really be a big deal really, but in the Klingon-speaking lightsabre-owning world of the western comics nerd, I guess sex of any kind is something new to them (be it hetero or homo). Anyway it is probably important we impart these kind of values to that esteemed group of society, so as to reduce the likelihood of their procreation

another master Garth Ennis is great I met him a few times at signings when I was a kid. I mentioned Hellblazer earlier My all time comics hero is Ezquerra. Always loved his Dredd (e.g. Necropolis) and his Strontium Dog, and other stuff like Third World War.

Sláine the Horned God 1&2- I just love Bisley's art in this series Ballad of Halo Jones Watchmen V for Vendetta and a few old Dredd collections. One of these days I'll get around to getting the Batman stuff again. I got rid of all my comics when I was a teenager, I didn't think I'd ever want to look at them again Including all of the UK Marvel Transformers comics from Issue #1!! The great thing, now I'm a grown-up comics seem really cheap There's a Dredd Vs Death videogame out soon... it looks a bit rubbish but I'll take a risk on it. Hopefully a few more of the old 2000AD stories will get made into games (like Rogue Trooper, Strontium Dog, Sláine etc) Ian, you ever read 'Song of the surfer' in 2000ad? Maybe it's finest moment. If you haven't you probably should.

Chopper was cool... Fantastic! That story is the only comic story that made me blub. The last few pages were bloody heartbreaking stuff. Only thing that spoilt it was they brought him back in the Megazine a couple of years later.
