Hey guys, I'm going camping next week and I'm trying to think of some cool ideas for food. Last time we had french toast for breakfast and it was really yummy. We have a camp stove, so pretty much anything is possible.

We are going to Big Sur for 3 days.

What are your favorite things to eat when you go camping?

French Toast??? I wanna go just for that! :LOL:

I've only been camping once so I'm not sure. How about..

Marshmellows
Corn
Veggie stew
Carne Asada and Tortillas

beyond that, when I went camping this summer, a friend brought fixings for breakfast burritos...

she made the egg/'sosage' mix at home, heated it and the toritllas up on the grill and then had cheee, sour cream, etc...

the odd thing was the people camping next to us did the same thing

I think breakfast burritos are the kewl camp food this year!

Grilled corn in the husk...

Grilled vegetables in aluminum foil...

Nothing like eggs and bacon for breakfast...

we have veggie burritos when we go with avocado and monterey jack cheese, pico de gallo,

we also do stew and this meat loaf thing with ground beef, potatoes, onions, carrots we make individual servings wrapped in foil and stick it in the camp fire yumm you can do that with just about anything and my vegeterian friend did it with tofu, soy sauce, brown rice and all kinds of veggies..it was sooo good.

I hope you dont come across any killer bears or anything.

Sour Cream and Cheddar Chips with Sour Cream Ranch Dressing Mix. (delicious) Big Bag of Cheeto Puffs. Umm... Town House Crackers and Cheeze umm... that cheese in the can. (?)

Well over easy eggs with beans and rice... and a butter tortilla. (oh my goodness)

Healthy note:

Granny apples with low-fat cottage cheese it pretty darn good.

I always take a chilli, make a ton of it at home and freeze it into meal sized blocks (It acts like it's own freezer pack and keeps for a day or two) then heat it on the camp stove and eat with loads of crusty bread, mmm! It’s excellent after a day hiking, especially if the weather is a bit miserable. Enjoy, I am jealous.
