On a serious note, though, the title of this thread gets to what I was talking about in the "classic things you hate" thread. I don't mean any offense, kelley, but the title "what's wrong with you people???" implies that there must be something wrong with those people who don't like "Friends." I'm sure I'm not immune to doing the same (i.e. 'How can someone NOT like 1999?'). What is it about our tastes that make it so that we view those with a different opinion to be wrong?

I never watched the show at all before I moved to Holland. I was scared to watch it...thought it would make me "more white" than I already am! wink

...BUT OMG...I can't live without it...

It came on everyday during the week here...i've seen every episode up until Rachael had the baby. Then they stopped showing it!!! :FIT: :FIT:

But, they do that all the time here...so, I'm hoping that once they "buy" the next season or so, I'll be able to watch what has become my "favorite sitcom...EVER!!!" (that and "Everybody loves Raymond" smile

Pochacco	I used to love Friends when it first started but its kinda tired and boring now Phoebe is the best character in that show,she still makes me laugh BTW for all you Matt LeBlanc fans Did you know he did a rather iffy photoshoot back in the 80's that ended up in gay porn magazines Much love Pochacco

i enjoy Friends as comfort TV. the reruns are on all the time, so if there's nothing else on, i'll watch it. i know what i'm going to get, i know it's going to be at least mildly amusing, but not to the point where i have to pay attention to get background entertainment out of it, because i've seen them all a hundred times or so.

haven't watched the new seasons in about 2 years, probably, but it's just kind of part of the TV wallpaper now.

fine show, nothing incredibly special, but solid and there when you want it.

I too love Friends..

Phoebe had been my favorite until the past few seasons, now it's all about Rachel for me...her timing has been just impeccable (of course it helps that she gets most of the good stories now)

I will concede one thing, the last 2 seasons have been a disappointment for me...'specially last season. I'm excited for the new (and last) season cos I want it to end. It still is one of my fave shows (and possibly my ALL TIME favorite comedy) so I can't take many more poor seasons before all the magic is ruined...last year I believe SCRUBS became the funnies show on tv...

all that being said, I did just get Season 1 on DVD from my bf for my birthday...and it's kept me entertained on the couch through MANY hangovers
