Technically, most HIV/AIDS service providers still say it can take up to 6 months for the antibodies to appear (which determine the positive test.) While we are on the prevention tip, please remember if you have been exposed HIV and are in the window period, you could test negative, but still transmit HIV. Even if the antibodies haven't been produced to be tested for, the virus is present and active and spreadable. In other words, please use a condom, every time.
