Damn, no 'Dawn' for her... I've got a new girlfriend. She's great, really pretty etc.
And here comes the 'but' she hates Princemusic, have to listen to it when i'm alone. We had the 'what if we had kids'-talk yesterday and to name my kid (boy or girl) 'dawn' was a definite VETO. Mmmm. Wanted to call my kid that for a decade. Damn!  | |

I've dated girls who hated Prince, but liked other artists who I'm just as into, such as Nick Cave, Neko Case, U2 or The Smiths. As far as the name issue goes...it may or may not be a problem. Did she just flat-out say NO and even REFUSE to entertain the thought? Did she suggest any alternatives? That could be a sign that she's one of those 'No, I don't WANNA and you can't MAKE me" kind of people. OR...it could just be a sign that she just doesn't like THAT name. If a girl suggested a name that I didn't like, I'd say "No," but ask them if there were any other names they liked just as much. Also find out exactly why 'Dawn' rubs her the wrong way... i'm telling you...sooner or later, ppl start to "allow" Prince. it has taken me months to get the kids at work to realize that he is a musical genius. i had this one kid calling Prince "Pronce" and shit. slowly i would bring in a couple of cds, you know display Prince's talent on the guitar, C&D and all that. then i brought in NEWS and i had on East on in the background and when it gets really heavy and shizz, he's like ,"what's that playing?". i just looked at him and smiled, he's like,"WTF! really?"
then he was over mine for a party and i had the Scarifice of Victor video on, Prince tearing up the fretboard, let me tell you the boy was glued to that tv set. sooner or later, people start to realize. Prince is truly for everybody. | |
