ok so...since my break up, the Org has been my main source of social interaction (yeah it's sad but hey...) and i feel like i can talk to you guys openly and freely (and God knows we have had a few free and open discussions in these parts) about stuff, so tell me what you think about Ex Sex.
i don't want to be told don't do it, i just want to hear anyone's experiences be they good, bad, in-between, and all that.

yeah and i'm gonna watch the Aladdin DVD in it's entirety and then come back here.

My experience was that continuing a physical relationship with an ex was not a good idea. It kept one or both of us emotionally tied to each other, rather than letting each other go (and letting go is the point of a break up, right?). It seems like it's "comfort sex" for the person who hasn't yet found another relationship, and "mercy sex" for the one who feels sorry for the other.

my last ex sex was very very bad...i realized there was a reason we had broken up in the first place. so not worth my time or effort. there was a nice comfort zone there that you don't get from straight pick-up sex but yet the lack of respect was so apparent in my case. yeah...with that one...never again!!

there are certain ex's (or semi-sorta-ex's) that i wouldn't mind another round with though...so its all a matter of personal choice...

Well, if none of the two are involved with anyone new, then why not, if sexual tension/love still remains?

SOME couples that part ways DO get back together again.

A break-up can be healthy if you're stuck in roles that you aren't happy about. Following a period of time you can look at each other with new eyes, talk through what went wrong between you and how you'd like things to be, and if there's a mutual interest in giving it another shot, then you get the opportunity to play parts that you are happy about - having learned from past mistakes.

But a one-night stand with an ex is probably not a good idea. Have some pride and move on.

hmm...good responses guys. thanks. well i guess you can tell that i have been mulling the idea over. we both realize that we can't be in a serious relationship right now with each other. our sex life was very healthy, it did have it's ups and downs just like everybody else's, but i was wondering if we just had a casual thing would it be ok?
i mean, she's a lot more liberal than me (i'm more of a conservative liberal), and i wouldn't be surprised if she agreed that ex sex was ok, no strings attached.
i dunno. i doubt if it will happen. i'll prolly rule it out.
