Are first borns more successful?

Eldest children are focused, natural leaders who are a success in the wider world, says an Australian parenting expert.
Every US astronaut has been the eldest child or first-born boy in the family and so have more than half of American presidents, Michael Grose says.

Second-born and middle children are the ones with tact, make good negotiators and hold a lot more friends - Adolf Hitler falls into that category.

And the youngest are the charmers, more likely to be artistic and creative, self-centred and manipulative.

Do you think that family position dictates your character traits? Do these categories match your family? Does order of birth shape your behaviour and thinking?

In my case no. Academicaly, my sister goes 2 a more established and higher ranked University (Liverpool) then where I went 2 (Salford). Comparatively also, she has played 4 England at field hockey whereas I was only a member of Sheffield United Centre of Excellence in sport.

Although we R both intelligent, young people, Sarah (my sister) is more 'on the ball' and quicker 2 pick things up than I am. I am more of what U may call a 'slow burner'.

Having said that I have never been jealous of my sister's success. I love her 2 bits, naturally.

we had a "birth order' lecture in one of my classes last year

I thought it was kinda cool, but for the most part, it did NOT apply to my family

but, the speaker managed to correctly guess almost everyone's place in their birth order by the middle of the lecture...so there must be some relevence to it...

Then I suggest you continue to read other threads and mind your own fucking business in the future.

My sister went to a more prestigious university than I did as well (she went to UC Berkeley and I go to Santa Cruz) but she is more socially retarded than I am. I feel bad for her in that aspect - she is incredibly sweet and intelligent and funny but she's really shy so she doesn't have many friends. I am meaner than she is (hehehe) but more open and loud. I tend to take more risks, too.

i'm the youngest of 3...the artistic thing definitely fits me. then again, my mom knew how to draw and i learned how from her...my sister (who's the oldest) ain't nothin but a compulsive liar and a conniving ol' bat, and my brother (the middle child) i don't know much about, cuz i haven't seen him much throughout my life.
