When u buy a CD....get home.... take the wrapper off....& find a scratch...

What do u do?

Do u take a chance & hope it plays well after a listen?...
OR
do u take it back str8 away & swap it/get a refund just in case?

i ask this because i bought the Bruce Springsteen Live '75-'85 Boxset 2day at JB HiFi...& it was sealed up in 2 layers of plastic.
got it home, unwrapped it & one of the discs has a scratch near the center.

dunno if i should take it back anyway even if it plays well after one listen...or just keep it & take extra good care of it.
(i take very good care of my cd's anyway.)

so what do u do in this situation?

ps: i also grabbed The Neptunes: "Clones" cd... heard 1/3 of it in the car on the way home.not bad so far smile

take it back with the receipt. and the sooner the better. i don't know how they do things in Australia, but they're not going to give your money back. they'll give you another copy. but if you wait several days, they're going to say "you've had it for 3 days; you scratched it" and tell you to go to hell.

I suppose it depends on how 'picky' you are about scratches.
Personally, I'd take it back and get another one because I am
quite picky when it comes to stuff like that, and it's best to do
that as soon as possible. I've never had any problems with
taking things back to record shops, mainly cuz I always keep
the reciept (at least for the first couple of weeks... just in case).
As long as you're exchanging whatever it is you're bringing
back for another copy of the same thing, the vast majority
of stores will be perfectly happy.
