I had a great time! just wanted to say thanks to all who gave tips. the highlights for me were:

1) atlantic starr at the escape lounge/bar on sunday night. what a great atmosphere to see a live r&b act. and they said that the SOS Band will be performing there on columbus day...DONT SLEEP!
2) the bob marley footwear store on nicollet mall: okay, i have a shoe problem...i realized this 3 pairs later. apparently that guy from pearl harbor (not afflex or damon, but the one who looks like them) showed up at the store immediately after me and my girl left. he only bought one pair...cheapskate.
3) the minnesota state fair: i didnt know so many things could be deep fried and served on a stick. such as NY-style cheesecake, dipped in chocolate no less. (no, i didnt eat that, but the friend oreos were quite good).

plus some of the lakes were beautiful. i think i visited at the right time of year. i'm sure the winters are brutal.

hahahha...no, i must admit, the combination of corn dogs, oreos and all the milk i could drink (for 50 cents!) had my stomach in a knot...i heard the pickles were good tho. Definitely a good people-watching place...a classic mullet never fails to make me point and laugh.
