Fuckin blackout!!! This blackout was a real pain in the ass, and it still is for some people. I was actually on the train when the power went out, but fortunately I was above ground so I was able to get out easily. But I spent 15 hours with no power or running water. Plus the heat didn't help. The power came back on at 8:30 this morning. I can't believe all the north eastern power could go down from one place in Canada. Someone fucked up.
Anyone else get stuck? "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

No, I wasn't hurt at all, just inconvenienced. When I woke up at 7:30 this morning and saw there was still no power, I basically said, "Holy shit!" I figured I'd be assed-out for the weekend. I'll tell you something though, I hope the terrorists aren't getting any ideas from this. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

If we get bombed during a blackout, it would be more than an inconvenience. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

This blackout was a major problem for a lot of people. It created an economic problem too. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

Blackout = bad.
Bomb = bad. Airplane crash = bad. Earthquake = bad. Meteor crashing into Earth = bad. etc, etc. What is your point again?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It's your point that's questionable. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

Anyone else get stuck? We were without power for 27 hours and had to go to Ohio (we're in Detroit) to get gas, food, water and ice. The water is still running slow and they're telling us that we need to boil it until at least Sunday. They're also telling us to not shower (yeah right...it's 90 degrees.)

NYC Not to mention...most of the industry in the US is located in the north east...there are auto plants all over the country that had to stop production because they couldn't get their parts from Detroit.

Iraqis Offer Tips Over U.S. Blackout
Fri Aug 15, 9:32 AM ET By NIKO PRICE, Associated Press Writer BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraqis who have suffered for months with little electricity gloated Friday over a blackout in the northeastern United States and southern Canada and offered some tips to help Americans beat the heat. From frequent showers to rooftop slumber parties, Iraqis have developed advanced techniques to adapt to life without electricity. Daily highs have soared above 120 degrees recently as Iraq (news - web sites)'s U.S. administrators have been unable to get power back to prewar levels. Some said it was poetic justice that some Americans should suffer the same fate, if only briefly. "Let them taste what we have tasted," said Ali Abdul Hussein, selling "Keep Cold" brand ice chests on a sidewalk. "Let them sit outside drinking tea and smoking cigarettes waiting for the power to come back, just like the Iraqis." Here are some tips from the streets of Baghdad: _ SLEEP ON THE ROOF. Without power — and hence without air conditioning — Iraqis have taken to climbing up stairs in the hot nights. Some install metal bed frames on rooftops, while others simply stretch out on thin mattresses. "It's cooler there," said Hadia Zeydan Khalaf, 38. _ SIT IN THE SHADE. Many Iraqis head outside when the power's off. "We sit in the shade," said George Ruweid, 27, playing cards with friends on the sidewalk. Of the U.S. blackout, he said: "I hope it lasts for 20 years. Let them feel our suffering." _ HEAD FOR THE WATER. "We go to the river, just like in the old days," said Saleh Moayet, 53. _ SHOWER FREQUENTLY. "I take showers all day," said Raed Ali, 33. _ BUY BLOCKS OF ICE. Mohammed Abdul Zahara, 24, sells about 20 a day from a roadside table. _ GET A GENERATOR. Abbas Abdul al-Amir, 53, has one of a long row of shops selling generators in Baghdad's Karadah shopping street. When the power goes out, sales go up, he said. _ CALL IN THE IRAQIS. Some suggested the Americans ask the Iraqis how to get the power going again. "Let them take experts from Iraq," said Alaa Hussein, 32, waiting in a long line for gas because there was no electricity for the pumps. "Our experts have a lot of experience in these matters." ___ EDITOR'S NOTE — Niko Price is correspondent-at-large for The Associated Press. "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."

As long as no one blames Canada.
But wait... Bloomberg did. To which our own mayor replied "Since when do Americans take responsbility for anything?"

But wait... Bloomberg did. To which our own mayor replied "Since when do Americans take responsbility for anything?" ahem... well, even before that, whoever was in charge of damage control in Canada came out with 3 conflicting scenarios blaming the US, practically before the lightbulbs were even cold.

No, get it right, the president was doing a fine job of that. Don't blame a measly power outage. Judging by your avatar I would think your room/house would be filled with burning candles. ___________________________ every so often I like to reach out and touch myself ..I guess you could say I am agressively horny and all women tell me I am a pervert...

Only a minor inconvenience here in Cleveland. Our light was out from about 4 p.m., Aug. 14, to 9 a.m., Aug. 15, and my water never quit. My brother in Youngstown, Ohio, just 50 minutes southwest of Cleveland had electricity the entire time. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
