Saw it a few months back...very nice. At was great at different levels. Very pleasant on the surface, but also strong scenes and meaning behind everything. The 'train trip' segment didn't work as well as everything else in my opinion, mayb because the movie was a little bit long and i was getting tired cause there's definitely a lot going on. Almost epic as a story and certainly epic in it's realisation.

Considering the fact that I am still cautious around anime, I must say I was surprised just how much I loved this movie. If you liked it, I might suggest Kikis Delivery Service, which was made by the same man. I also suggest Metropolis, just because it is the only other anime movie I am incredibally fond of.

Spirited Aways visuals were so amazing because they were all hand drawn Crazy! That is a lot of detail!

Metropolis is a amazing movie (The remake is the one I am talking about, it came out about a year or two ago), with a great plot and visuals that were as spectacular as Spirited Aways, but in the other direction. All of the backrounds are CG, all madly detailed graphics, while the characters are hand drawn straight onto it, and they merge perfectly into the world. Amazing movie. Check em out!

Nice! Yes, watch it when you get a chance, I love that movie so much. The music is so awesome... I got Cowboy Bebop the Movie with it also, which was alright. Action-y.

It´s definitely one of the best animated movies I´ve seen. Full of imagination and intelligent ideas. And the really unique part: a believable kid. No Disney stereotype here, that´s for sure.

I know it´s not a Disney movie. I never said it´s a Disney movie. Disney couldn´t make a movie like this in a thousand years.

It's like saying The Nightmare Before Christmas is Disney.
In a way it is, but the quality of these movies lifts it WAY above the level of their normal irritatingly stupid output of these days.

Hey, I was going to say that, but I forgot lol Nightmare Before Christmas is the only other movie that compares to Spirated Away to me, but that might be because I am a Tim Burton fan. I am just happy to see such uniqueness every once in awhile.
