Total Recall Of The War Of The Worlds Well, folks...the moment that no one's been waiting for...The Mad Monkey makes his first thread...let's all not cheer wildly...LOL
Anyway... I spent half my shift at work last night just looking at Mars and the rest being completely awe-striken by what I was seeing. Never before have I been deluged with feelings of melancholy and insignificance. It truly was a humbling experience for me. Oh, how I wished I could fly there (under my own power, of course) and see the wonders of the red planet with my own, unfettered eyes. How, saddened I was that I couldn't and that I was stuck here on Earth. Maybe I'm letting this affect me way too much...but I don't really care. This is a remarkable event and it's happening now. We won't be able to see this spectacular site again for about another 10 generations (if you count each generation as being 25 years). That means, your grandchilren's grandchildren's grandchildren's children might be able to see it when it comes around again in 2237. What a thought, huh? I, myself, am going to take some Polaroids just for posterity's sake. And, maybe, someone out there is doing the same thing...just maybe...

Moderator | Good thread, the stars make me feel small and sad too, but I like them anyway In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Greetings.
Were it not for anti-capitalist ideology, we would have had low-cost passenger flights to Mars by now. Kinda makes ya wonder whether Mars McDonald's would taste any different than Earth McDonald's. Fear is the mind-killer.
