i am sure i will get burned for typing this, as a lot of people hate "goodbye i am leaving the org" letters, but i don't wanna just disapeer.

i need to get centered. i spend too much time on here, and it is getting to me. i am finding myself becoming a meaner person, carrying on pedantic arguments, getting incensed over comments i see as being as racist or sexist or homophobic, despite people assuring me they are not. i am getting too caught up in the org, and seeing things that probably aren't there.

so, i will be back at some point, but i need to take some time off. love ya all, even those i have gotten into arguments with. I apologize to any that i may have made a villan of, and to any that i might of hurt, this is truly not the person i normally am.

i am sure i will occasionally check in to see what's going on, when i need some fun.

Here's Ian's ass-nugget of wisdom. From my experience of moderating the Org, I believe 99% of the arguments, bad vibes, and problems are caused NOT by idiots, not by malevolence or someone just being a "jerk", and not by someone corresponding to any label or stereotype you can think of... Rather the problems nearly always come down to miscommunication (*). People aren't very good at communicating purely in text sometimes and express themselves poorly, and if left unchecked such errors of judgement, misconstrued points, and assumptions all mix up together (with a healthy dollop of ego) to form a nasty argument.

I don't know if it the standard of education today, poor levels of literacy, or simply impatience / intolerance for the written form... but people on internet forums really struggle to express themselves with clarity, despite spending a large chunk of their free time posting on such sites. Weird no?

Chris, I will really miss you, but I do understand.

We all know you'll be back at some point, but indeed, you can't live your life on a computer. It's a great extra, nice way to meet new people, exchange views etc, but ultimatly it's going to be out there where you are supposed to be spending most of your time.
I'm jobless so I understand the way you can get caught up in a site, chatroom etc, but once you learn to keep it at a normal level, it 'll be fun again.

Drop in once in a while cause otherwise all gay men here would be missing their Gayfather

Chris ~ I've always seen you as an incredibly creative, funny and kind person. You bring a unique flavour to the org and you will be missed immensely. But, we can get very caught up in the drama and need to tend to the world outside of it ~ and to our own spirit as well. Take care and be well. I know exactly what u are saying. As you know, I took my own leave of absense earlier this year and came back with a clear head. (some may disagree but fuck them) It is good to take some time away from a site and get your head on right. Damn, and you're one of the good ones. My personal feeling with the Org is to never take it too seriously. Hence why 99% of my posts consist of a bunch of crap on the GD forum. I seldom get into arguments because ultimately, you're arguing with someone who you don't know and who doesn't know you. Apart from a few Orgers, nobody here is that important in my life. There's a lot of people who post controversial opinions just to get reactions and unfortunately, most of the time they'll get them. Also, there really are some total jerks here with some unbelievable views. However, you can't base an opinion on somebody purely on how they post on the Org, so it's best just to ignore idiots.

Just my opinion.
