I agree with this perspective, for the most part. I have learned through firsthand experience on both sides (being spoken about, as well as posting details towards someone else) that starting a thread usually only enflames things. Other Orgers will start posting on it, often saying rude things in order to support whomever started the thread, and have no idea who they're talking about. Acting like their own shit don't stink  , posting about how awful the situation is. The person or people the thread is attacking tend to only become more angry and frustrated, and start thinking of ways they can retaliate.
But I do understand that sometimes no amount of reasoning with someone privately will make them stop. I DO understand being driven to the point where you want to call them out in public and try to get support for your particular view. In that case, I think the only thing to do is to use a moderator to act as a third party and broker the peace.
