Any other classic Universal Studios horror geeks out there?????

If there is any one thing in this world that can put a big fucking doofy smile on my face and make me feel like a 5-year-old boy, it's classic Universal Studios monster/horror flicks! Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Creature From the Black Lagoon, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Bride of Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Old Dark House, White Zombie, The Werewolf of London, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, House of Dracula, Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, etc. big grin

Any other old-school Universal horror geeks out there?

To a new world of gods and monsters... wink

YEEESSS!!! I LOOOVE old Universal horror films!!! I pray to the altar of Bela Lugosi, one of THE finest actors ever. I lived on The Wolf Man, The Mummy, Dracula, The Invisible Man and King Kong when I was a kid.

I pestered my Dad to buy me the video of "King Kong" when I was 8 years old, and he finally gave in.I remember in 1984 when I was playing Little League, they had a Classic Horror Week, and every night they'd show a different film. I remember SO vividly sitting on my bed, watching Karloff, Lugosi, Chaney, Rains and all the others boys...

I have a dear friend named Creepy Clyde who writes and sings spooky songs. (www.creepyclyde.com) We're seeing "Jason Vs Freddy" when it comes out! CAN'T WAIT.

EVERYONE GO BUY CREEPY CLYDE'S CD!!! IT'S WONDERFUL!!!

True, but they also sell 2 Fast 2 Furious for $20, while they only have withered old tapes of greats like On the Waterfront. big grin The general public is stupid; they forget, or never learn, what good has come before them.

Taking a look at Amazon.com, Half.com, or eBay, you'll also see that people routinely pay around $60 for DVDs of such classics as The Son of Frankenstein or The House of Frankenstein. These movies are the roots of so much...

I totally LOVE the classic Universal Studios stuff!!! It's cheesy, but totally atmospheric and nostalgiac as all hell.

I had the Universal Studios horror playset when I was a kid... had Dracula, the Wolfman, Frankenstein's Monster, and Frankenstein's glow-in-the-dark laboratory. It was AWESOME!

The Universal Wolfman flicks were my favorite. (I still have a thing for hairy men.) I used to cry whenever he got killed.

The Evil Dead is a classic horror flick in my mind. Though it was made many years after the movies you mentioned, and it contains a considerable amount of gore, it has the same charm. Maybe because they work working with a limited budget.

The fact that you quoted that cheesy Wolf Man poem now makes you my Official Favorite .Orger. I love you.

I had all sorts of Universal monster toys as a child...including some dumb glow-in-the-dark Creature From the Black Lagoon!

I always get all happy and teary when Larry Talbot gets cured at the end of House of Dracula. And then sad again when he falls off that cliff in Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein. sad

There's a store here on Cleveland's east side that sells old collectibles. They had the Universal playset and several movie monsters... But it was literally hundreds of dollars to buy.

I just got an AWESOME Bauhaus shirt. On the front is a close up of Peter's eyes and on the back is a full picture of Daniel and Peter.

And NO, applekisses, you can't take it into the bedroom with you wink
