Home Sick I'm home sick today, which makes me feel guilty, cause I probably could've gone in. My stomach really wasn't doing well this a.m., though.
Seems like I need a sick day about every 2-3 months, but it's usually more of a "mental health day" rather than being physically ill--what about you? How often do you call in sick?

How often do you call in sick? carrie we all need a little down time. it provides us with the mental and physical boost to get us through the coming days. your profession demands a lot out of you, and you daily give much of your mind, body and soul. as beautiful as that is, it does take a toll. as you know, right now i have a fairly big space of down time, my work is madly cyclical, burnout is rampant within both the industries i work in. its important for all of us to recharge. zesty!!!

Luckily, I think I only had 2 clients scheduled so I don't think it will be a huge hassle. I understand what you're saying intellectually about recharging (and I tell myself the same thing), but on the other hand, because I work in a medical setting, we're expected to be there for our patients to take care of their health. A Catch-22, for sure! Thanks, C!

A Catch-22, for sure! Thanks, C! i understand where you are coming from completely, but to care for them optimally you have to be in as clear and free of a space as possible. enjoy the down time. (i know i am preaching to the choir here) zesty!!!

But you at least can make your own schedule and determine your own hours in advance, right?

Look at it this way... last year I had a court ordered extended vacation in "DA MANS" house... I hadn't been that homesick since Summer Camp... with the exception of the previous visits to the joint... having your FREEDOM taken from you is the worst... babe -------------------------------------------------
