Why don't they make cds that play on both sides

or do they?

dvds are just crushing the cd music market, in price, special features, packaging etc. Sometimes cds will come 'enhanced' with a video or something, or come with a second disc but why don't they put music on both sides? or put videos on the other side? Or a concert? or just more music? Have two cds worth of music on one cd (80 mins on each side)

I just don't get how you can put the letterbox version of a movie on one side of a dvd and the pan and scan version on the other side, and we are still listening to 70 mins on a one sided music cd.

please explain

Anxiety

Some DVDs have widescreen on one side and fullscreen on the other. That would tell me it's possible to have 2-sided CDs. 2-Sided CD-Rs would rawk.
