Independent Taste Test Shows...

just for sh1ts and giggles, we did a blind taste test of 4 different vodkas at home last night (never a dull moment at our house!) and guess what?! for me, Skyy Lemon rated higher than Grey Goose Lemon!! Followed by Vox and Absolut in 3rd and 4th place, respectively.

just goes to show that marketing is everything, and i'm as big a sucker as the next gal.

either way, i highly recommend a taste test party - it's loads of fun, and you never know what being blindfolded and drunk might lead to... lol

What is this Lemon shit? Wodka is wodka, not a limonade. Sure there are vodka's out there that beat Absolut, but to rank them 4th is a disgrace. Nice idea though, the blind testing-thingie.

Most people (me included) can´t even tell red wine from white wine. They once did a test on professional wine experts where they let them drink a glass of white wine that had been colored red with a substance that didn´t taste anything. Only fifteen per cent of experts noticed that they were actually drinking white wine (none of them were told that they were being put to the test).

I also did a blind test on a friend of mine who swore he would know the diffrence. He was wrong, which was kind of funny since he had a fifty per cent chance of being right anyway.

I quite often drink a glass of wine, and i can certainly imagine how this could happen, especially with certain types of white or red whine, if only bcause you are used to drinking white wine cooler than red wine. Wine has such an enormous amount of different flavors which makes mistakes more likely. I think it's easier to tell the difference between two brands of wodka or two brands of (regular) beer bcause the difference is much more in the details.

Of course the difference between real wodka and wodka lemon should be a no-brainer disbelief

I was cocky as hell about it before somebody tested me. Nowadays my only measure of a good wine is how much I can drink of it without getting a terrible hangover the next day.
