In retrospect, having fallen in love with someone that I known on the net previously to meeting in person, I'd have to say no, it isn't possible to fall in love over the net. To fall in love over the net is more like falling in love with the idea of someone. I've found that no matter how well you think you know someone before you meet face to face, when you do come together in person, it's like starting over all over again. You may think you know the person, but that's really only knowing 1) what they've allowed you to know (creating an image of themselves to pass off on you) and 2) who you THINK they are (creating an image of that person for yourself). And when I say image, I mean the outsides, the insides, the good and the bad. Even if it isn't awkward upon the first meeting, you still really only know the illusion of that person. The illusion of each other that you've created for yourselves and each other. Fortunately, I only truly fell in love with someone for real, for the first time, that I had known over the net AFTER we met in person. Aaron, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! YOU summed it up PERFECTLY! On the Internet, a person can put their best foot forward, so to speak, but be a total psycho (as in my ex-girlfriend Selena's case). Internet love CAN happen, but you had better be DAMNED careful.

This kind of goes back 2 the thread eye started "Are the People You Meet on the Internet Really Your Friends" (which for some reason got deleted)...Eye suppose U could fall in love with someone over the net, but eye would take it slow and make sure U get 2 know the person real well b4 you make a committment 2 them. Psychodelicide's alternative account because I ran out of posts again!
