Hobo spiders!

These things are infesting our house! We have captured 4 today and probably 10 in the past few weeks. Apparently they are venomous and bite victims can end up in the hospital for up to 3 months. It's all Christopher's fault!

Nope- they're located in Washington, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming in the U.S. They came over from Europe in the '30s.

Evil! You should call your landlord ASAP and tell them you want exterminators in there immediately. Normally, I would be all for catching them and putting them outside. But if they're venomous, they've gotta go!

How big are they? Are they fast and jumpy? Have you found them in your bedroom?

They're really big- not huge, but bigger than any spiders in Michigan. They are fast but don't jump, and apparently can't climb well. We've only seen them on the main floor, so none have been in the bedrooms yet!

No, not even close. Probably 2 inches in diameter including the legs.

Dude, the last thing you need is them things crawling all over you while you're sleeping. I had a similar problem with millipedes in my apartment this month (I was killing close to 20 per day). I kept all the windows shut and looked for any openings where they might be sneaking in, and nothing seemed to work. Then I looked up online that they like cool tempuratures, so I figured my air conditioner running was attracting them to come in. Sure enough, when I shut it off, the number of them coming in dropped dramatically.

They finally called an exterminator in (twice) to spray the place, and now theyre all gone.
