My take on it is this - how to have fun on the Org in 5 easy steps. Everyone write these down!

• 1. Accept that there are many people in the world that you won't necessarily be best friends with. It is still possible to interact with these people with civility and maturity.
  
  
• 2. Drop the ancient, petty, tedious disagreements from the past and don't waste your time being obsessed with hounding people you dislike off the site. Life really is too short. Spend more time talking to people you like, about things you like. Don't label or make assumptions about people on this site - because none of us REALLY know each other.
  
  
• 3. Leave the ego at the door, and just try to remember that the Org is what you make it - if you spend your time here trying to have a few laughs, you'll have a much better time for it. If you spend your time harrassing people, you'll probably find yourself getting angry quite a lot.
  
  
• 4. Remember that moderating a site like this is not an exact science, and stuff may not always be managed to your satisfaction. Remember too though, that it is a fucking miracle that a free site of this magnitude exists at all, and has been around for so many years. Enjoy it for what it is.
  
  
• 5. Keep your private life off the Org. I've seen so many people confuse the Org with real life, and get their private life, their romantic life etc all messed up because of some shit on the Org. This is just a silly Prince fansite, don't let it take over your life. More importantly, don't give away too much of your personal details, protect your privacy.
  

All this said though, I don't think we should ever be concerned with "bringing people back" to the site. Let's just focus on the people that are here.

People leave for all kinds of reasons - ultimately if they calm down and want to return (as they often do) they are usually quite welcome to do so. However the onus is on THEM to change their behaviour in such a way to allow them to enjoy the site better for what it is, and to contribute in a more useful manner to discussions. It is a bit arrogant to say something like "I'll come back if you improve the site" - this assumes that their problems on the site was everyone else's fault, not theirs
