Do you believe in fortune telling?

What were your experiences?

A couple of years ago I was in a... well I was incarcerated on a couple of charges that I won't get into right now. My mom would come and visit me and during one of her visits she told me she had gone to see a persian fortune teller to just check it out even though she never had been to one and didn't really believe in them. She said the lady already knew she had a son and he was in some sort of trouble. She also mentioned there would be a court hearing to determine my outcome which looked very positive. I thought my mom was telling me these things so I wouldn't stress to much while in there. I bailed out a few weeks later and went to court on a monthly basis for many months ahead. I ended up getting a world famous attorney to represent me and in the end did not end up in the pen. Whoever that fortune teller was has got to have some some sort of psychic ability or the power to make coincidence come to life!!!

I read tarot cards and have taught how to read them as well. NOTHING is set in stone. When you get a reading you are seeing a possible future, probably the most probable one. Once you see that, your direction will change based on your perception of the situation. So lets say it says something bad, like you might loose your job. Either you are going to be freaked out and worry and do something stupid to go in that direction, OR you are going to take action and clean up your situation or look for another job. It is always up to you.

By the same token, if it says something REALLY good is going to happen you can either A: Have confidence, take action to make that good thing happen or B: Sit at home and focus on your problems.

Usually, it's best to use tarot cards to decide how you might deal with a situation that has already happened. The best books and readers will take a more spiritual and psychological approach to tarot reading, focusing on personal growth rather than fortune telling.

I don't believe it. I know it is possible to get accurate knowledge about future events but:
- i will never believe that something will for sure come true: a human error in fortune telling is allways possible

some experiences: 2 many to use. But i will give u one very clear one;

in the morning i had a dream...

i saw all my ex-girlfriens in a row in time a was with time.
then i saw the last..and after that a name was called...

the same day i met a girl with that name and she became 2 hours later my girlfriend

u call that fortune telling or coincedence?

My friend Annie reads my cards. I wouldn't call her a "fortune teller" though. She's also an ordained minister and a reiki (sp?) master as well as being so fucking psychic!!! She's very good...it's difficult to read a friend's cards but sometimes she's right on. One time she kept telling me to be careful because the fertile card eek kept coming up in my reading...they were just misinterpreted and come to find out it was my mom having a cancer scare with her ovaries/uterus. BIZZARE!!! And she can always take my headaches away with her crystals and stones...I was skeptical at first but I've witnessed her healings first hand!

The other thing is that it is impossible to predict the future because of free will.

Anyone who says death is in your future is playing you, death is in all of our futures.

In the same vein, people who say they can predict negative events are using your fear to plant the seed of something negative. When a seed is planted in your mind the chances of it happening are real.
