Fred Durst must have been having a really bad day when the Summer Sanitarium tour stopped outside Chicago Saturday.

The Chicago Sun-Times describes Durst as having a tantrum on stage and ending Limp Bizkit's set after just 20 minutes. The report says heckling fans throwing garbage gave Durst a rough reception.

At first, Durst encouraged the abuse, then offered to fight anyone within earshot while yelling curses and sexual putdowns.

According to the report, "Had the villain in 'The Wizard of Oz' been a vile little boob like Durst rather than a snarly old lady in greenface, the movie's 'I'm melting!' scene might have looked like this."

The band left the stage early and Durst continued to curse the fans from the wings until someone took the microphone. That meant the crowd had to wait more than an hour before Metallica took the stage.

I’m at the Summer Sanitarium Tour and Fred Durst comes out on stage and instantly people start throwing stuff at him and booing him. They start their hour and a half set and on the giant TV screens their flashing "Mancow Sucks Cock" and "Mancow Swallows", they keep flashing this and it keeps getting worse the crowd is getting louder and more and more stuff keeps getting thrown at the band, then finally someone hits Fred right in the nuts with a lemon and that’s when he really got pissed off. Within seconds the guitar player gets hit in the hand with something and Fred runs over to see how his guitar player is doing meanwhile Fred starts making all these gay comments about Mancow, Fred is so angry now a half hour into the show he calls for “Faith” their final song for the set, Fred is now ending his hour and half set a half hour early, while they’re playing “Faith” they have scenes from the George Michael video “Faith” playing on the giant TVs and Fred is continuing to make gay comments about Mancow, finally the band just walks off stage. There’s no one on stage but Fred still has his mic on and you hear Fred say, “I thought you guys were Limp Bizkit fans, but you’re nothing but a bunch of Chicago, cum burping fagots." "But I won Chicago, you may think you’ve won but I won!" "How do you know I won? Cause I’ll be back, and how do you know I’ll be back, because I’ll be fucking Mancow in the ass on your front lawn!!!” After that comment you could hear management and the record people just ripping into Fred and yelling at him “How can you FUCKING act like this to these people?!?!?!”

Ms. Spears got ole Fred all clusterfucked... Either that or it's just another case of Metallica fans not givin a rats ass about any opening acts and getting the show on the road...
