Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake

At first I was really skeptical about it, but the trailer looks pretty damn good. Michael Bay is the executive producer and the original cinematographer (Daniel Pearl) is on it again. Plus Marilyn Manson is supposedly doing something with it musically.

It's kinda the same premise as the original, but it's a little closer to the true Ed Gein story. I'm actually looking forward to it. It'll be hard to match the classic '73 version though.

Too true, but I hope it does...and it would be great to have the chance to see the story at the cinema. As I'm only 19 I never got the pleasure of seeing the original on the big screen!

They actually had a screening of the original in NYC some years ago, but I couldn't get to it. It would have been cool to see it on the big screen.

This is like rewriting the bible with hipper more modern characters. It's going to have to be CRAZY good to top the feel of the original. I'm hating it instinctively already.

What was better Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Exorcist?

My two favorite horror flicks. The Omen trillogy isnt far behind though. Part 1 is so much better after you watch part 2. I love horror movies. Too bad there havent been any descent ones in the past few years. I didnt see 28 Days Later but heard bad things and I missed House of 1000 Corpses.

Guess I will have to wait for this and Terror Firmer 2.

I can't compare Texas Chainsaw with The Exorcist cuz their in totally different kinds of horror. Texas Chainsaw is more of a slasher/gore flick, whereas The Exorcist is a bit more pshychological and disturbing. That movie is definitely the scariest ever made.

The Omen 1 and 2 are the only ones worth a damn, they were awesome. 3 and 4 sucked.

I enjoyed 28 Days Later, even though it took a lot from Dawn and Day of the Dead. Now they're gonna release a new version with a different ending in theatres. Just a way to make more money. So wait for that version to come out.

House of 1000 Corpses was descent, but not great, It was basically Texas Chainsaw meets Natural Born Killers. Catch it on cable.

The new TCM looks like they changed some of it. Oh well i will go see it.
If you want to see some disturbing flicks then check out Last House on the Left by Wes Craven or The Untold Story. The Untold Story is a Hong Kong flick based on a true story about a maniac who murders people (even a whole family including children) very graphic. Then he chops up the bodies and puts it in the food he makes at the resaraunt he owns. Very horrific!

You should all go see The Eye. It's a Japanese horror flick along the lines of The Sixth Sense and The Ring. Try to see it in the theaters.

I recently saw a horror movie from the late 70's that I had never heard of before called "The Changeling". It was one of the better horror movies i have seen in a long while. It was a haunted house type film kinda like "Amityville Horror". I strongly suggest both of those movies.

I didnt even know there was an Omen 4. I always just watched the first 3 and specificly the first 2. I love spooky kid movies. Provides great birth control.

Omen 4 was a made-for-TV movie that was absolutely awful. A little girl was the star of this one. Don't waste your time with it.

This is old-hat discussion for horror fans, but it's true: The best horror taps into one's psyche, not just their sense of disgust. I think this is why Texas Chainsaw Massacre AND the Exorcist worked so well despite the fact they had vastly different gross-out factors.

The Exorcist had more affect on my personal sensibilities about life, religion, etc., than did TCM, but both were excellent.
