I fell in love when I heard "The Bridge is over" by BDP and "My part of town" by a local philly group called The Tuff Crew.

I always liked it, but I more into the rock thing. Being a brutha from the heart of Philly, I got my share of looks and crazy ass stares, but I've been on point ever since, but I still groove to that rock shit from time to time.

For me it was hearing stuff like Sugar Hill, Grandmaster Flash, Erik B & Rakim, and later stuff like LL Cool J, KRS-1, Public Enemy etc. I was hooked as a kid... and as a teenager listening to Tribe, De La, PE, Tupac etc etc just cemented my passion for hiphop permanently

First time I heard Rapper's Delight just blew my mind... I'd never heard anything like it. Rap was quite slow to leak through my corner of the globe... I was the only kid I knew who was into it, apart from a few kids who liked crossover stuff like the Beasties.

Now you got GARAGE in the U.K.

Once Grunge came around there were only a few hip hop artists I liked. Brand Nubian, Erik B and Rakim, EPMD, De La Soul, Tribe... and some others.

3 albums made me fall in love with Hip Hop all over again in the mid 90s...

OK. When I was 10 I knew very little about any music other than curent pop stuff. (we're talking about 1994 here). I really liked the song 'Boom shake the room' ( I was 10 ok, I was 10) but I couldn't find it in the shops. Then one day my mum bought me a tape called "Rap attack". It was a rap compilaion album that had "Boom shake the room" on it. On this tape I heard "When the shit goes down" by Cypress hill. That's where it started for me. I love 'Black Sunday'!

i don't know exactly when, but i've been a fan for awhile. i think it was when someone played the sugarhill gang in elementary school during show and tell. and my mother loved that song by grandmaster flash that i can't remember the name of. she played it ALL the time.
