Simple Beauty Post an object that you find beautiful in its simplicity. With so much drama that can surround it is often nice to remember the beauty that is all around us.

well, i looked all over, and could not find a pic of the plastic bag floating in the air in "american beauty", so you will hve to use your imagination. here, however, is the quote from the movie at that point.
"It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it, right? And this bag was like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. And that's the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and ... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid. Ever." Please cborgman *sigh*, that is my most favorite experience within watching a movie. ~I remember one day... I (personally) experience a "similar" Eureka. I was driving down a busy street... and I saw this plastic bag flowing in and through the air. I was on the opposite side of the street... the other side was the Mall entrance. Anyhow, this bag was just about to cross the busy intersection... yet, it got caught on the light pole coincidence or not) during the passing of traffic. Anyways... after the light turned red and a sense of clearing came... the bag let go of the pole and danced (seemingly across the street), in pure safety. I watch in awe... for I was on the opposite side (in the turning lane)... I watched as this bag and collected items followed. My urge to follow this sense of "being" was strong... as the turning arrow turned green... I made a U-turn and followed. I marveled at the sight... (driving slowly and carefully) behind this "benevolent force" and understood the beauty and free sense as it traveled 'united'/connected. Little particles gathered... tiny leaves etc... and it seemed (I believe) as if they were so unified... dancing... trying to catch up... as this bag pranced down a isolated street beyond. I even drove through this "benevolent force" to see if even I could break such a union... *beautiful sigh*... it continued... I watched it exist in my rearview mirror... and I smiled. ~Sorry I couldn't help myself... I remember after such an experience... I called Byron to share such a moment. We both connected to that scene in American Beauty. That saying is powerful. | |
