Seriously though, I really cannot understand how people could honestly think that illiteracy is cool. I know that there are functional illiterates in the world and, from what I understand, they are able to survive, but what I cannot understand is why they do not attempt to get some form of education. It is a sad commentary on our society that so many people believe that illiteracy is acceptable and that they are so apathetic when it comes to getting an education.

Some people say that it doesn't matter because they are still able to communicate... sure, they can communicate but cavemen were able to communicate too.

All-in-all, I think that you should be who you are, but I also believe that everyone benefits from an education.

Prolly due to the second rate education that's givin out in the mostly black and/or poor communities,
after all once you get pushed through highschool with a 3rd grade readin average it kinda takes the taste of 'more of the same bullshit' out of ones mouth. Now some muthafuckas on the planet really do find that need for 'higher education' to keep that McDonalds position open for they ass.
