It's official, VH1 is on crack!

Has anyone seen the full list of the top 200 pop icons? Who the hell put this thing together? Now I'm not one to put much into these VH1 lists but this is so off base I just had to comment. For those who hasn't seen it here's a taste.

1. Oprah Winfrey
2. Superman
3. Elvis Presley
4. Lucille Ball
5. Tom Cruise
6. Marilyn Monroe
7. Madonna
8. Michael Jordan
9. Princess Diana
10. Michael Jackson
11. Friends Cast
12. The Beatles
13. Jerry Seinfeld
14. Steven Spielberg
15. Jennifer Lopez
16. Muhammad Ali
17. Mickey Mouse
18. Bill Clinton
19. The Brady Bunch
20. Britney Spears

Others of note:

27. Frank Sinatra
31. Eminem
35. P. Diddy
36. Johnny Carson
50. James Brown
51. Tiger Woods
54. John Wayne
57. Nicole Kidman
64. Celine Dion
65. Jackie Robinson
66. Barbra Streisand
71. Run D.M.C.
76. Bruce Springsteen
77. Bugs Bunny
78. Arnold Schwarzenegger
85. Eddie Murphy
92. Al Pacino
94. Penny Marshall (as Laverne DeFazio)
99. Henry Winkler (as the Fonz)
100. Will Smith
101. Kevin Bacon
105. Richard Pryor
109. Jimi Hendrix
117. William Shatner
119. Ben Affleck
120. Sarah Jessica Parker
122. Bob Denver (as Gilligan)
134. Janet Jackson
137. PRINCE
138. Hugh Hefner
139. Molly Ringwald
147. David Bowie
158. Batman
167. The Three Stooges
171. Scooby-Doo
174. Tupac Shakur
179. Chris Rock
184. Bob Marley
189. Dolly Parton
194. Dr. Phil
197. Judge Judy
200. The Rock

Oprah Winfrey #1. Friends Cast ahead of the Beatles? Why is Tom Cruise in the top 20 let alone #5? Jennifer Lopez ahead of Ali! What the fuck is she even doing on the list alone with Britney Spears, Eminem. Maybe it would be a good idea to at least be around a decade before we call someone an icon. Ya Think? Celine Dion ahead of Streisand and Laverne ahead of the Fonz LOL Yea I missed all those Laverne t-shirts when I was a kid. Keven Bacon ahead of Hendrix? Why the hell is Kevin Bacon, Ben Affleck & Sarah Jessica Parker on this list let alone ahead of PRINCE! Talk about no respect. And Nicole Kidman ahead of William Shatner at 117? Guess I missed those Nicole Kidman conventions. Yea and Chris Rock is more of an icon than Bob Marley disbelief Molly Ringwald, Dr Phil and Judge Judy icons? How old where the people who put this list together. It's like the took random names and just made a list. The VH1 thing is just foolish now. After this they really need to quit.

This is the most fucked up of all. Seriously, I think they smoked crack before putting this shit out. Just think of the first 200 people off the top of your head and write them down. Won't be any more fucked up than this.

For what it's worth mine would be...

Elvis
Michael Jackson
Ali
The Beatles
John Wayne
Michael Jordan
Mariyln Monroe
Babe Ruth
Frank Sinatra
JFK

An icon is someone who has to stand the test of time with cross market appeal. They have to transend their occupation. To be an icon 90% (or more) of the population should be able to identify them at first glance at least a decade after they made it big. I don't like everyone on my top 10 list but nobody can deny they are all huge icons
