Choose my next place to live please.....

Next year my business will be fully operational by internet alone so I will be free to live wherever I choose in the world as long as I have a fast internet connection to work from.

So where should I go ? Suggestions ?
I like LA and NYC but probably too expensive I guess.
I am only looking for a small place for 2 people...

I like Madrid, that's an option, depends on how much it costs for rental though.

Maybe somewhere in Canada...

South of France. Not too hot during the summer, not too cold during winters. Nice people, and access to your fast Internet connection. Spain is a tad cheaper. Italy is possibly even more beautiful but i wouldn't know about running an IT business from there. Same thing for Greece.
Maybe you should consider India. Many people speak English, the country is very IT-minded and there are some very fancy 'western' neighbourhoods that are affordable. Only thing is your mobile phone won't work outside the big cities.

(Btw, if u wanna play save on that fast Internet connection, in Belgium some 98% has cable, only surpassed by Korea i believe where almost everybody has broadband internet).

You should move somewhere where you won't be bored outta your mind.

Being a midwesterner, I don't reconmend Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa or the Dakotas but Minnesota is the best outta the bunch.

wow so many responses
great smile !

well first off

Italy
would be nice, I can speak a bit of Italian but it isn't the cheapest place to stay , it is amon gone of among the most expensive in Europe sadly so that is not in the running right now ... and Italian guys just piss me off LOL
I can always go there for a holiday now and then but to live there would bankrupt my business before I make any money LOL

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwlllantysiliogogogoch

I can only guess it is in either Wales or Ireland by the spelling but I am bored of the UK, I have lived here on and off for 3 years ... and it rains too damn much also ...

Vancouver, BC - I do like it there , a bit too much rain though but I seriously was looking at apartments there a year or so back - beautiful city and a huge Asian population which is good smile It is definitely in the running, but again a fairly expensive place to stay...

Chicago, IL - never even thought of Chicago - guess I could always go and watch the rikki lake show tapings hehe
I will look into this one...

Atlantic City - where is this ?

San Diego - Dont know jack about it except they got a bigass zoo LOL - I'll check it out.

San Francisco - again , i know nothing except that golden gate bridge - I will look into this one too but I expect accomodation wont be cheap ...

Sydney, Australia - I am originally from there, spent 20 years there so that's enough for me. Good for a holiday but wouldn't live there again.

Greece - This IS a good one, fairly cheap to stay there , not too good for internet conections but I will check out the net scene in Athens and see what that is like. Accomodation isn't too expensive anywhere in Greece so it could definitely be an option...

Hawaii - I have been there so many times it would make sense to live there but again - it aint cheap.
everything is imported form the mainland so everything is more expensive, but thats the price you pay for living in paradise. This will definitely be in the running.

Stockholm - Sweden
would be lovely, I have some friends there but too expensive for me. I want my business to actually save me some moeny not blow it all on living, there is always time to blow it after I have saved enough to be able to afford to blow it hehe

South of France. - This will be looked into but methinks it will break the bank

Spain
is a tad cheaper. I have just recently been to Spain and I was looking at places to live in Madrid, I LOVE it there - absolutely on the list...

India. Many people speak English, the country is very IT-minded and there are some very fancy 'western' neighbourhoods that are affordable. - yes India could be great - and it is cheap as piss. definitely on the list of maybes !

(Btw, if u wanna play save on that fast Internet connection, in Belgium some 98% has cable, only surpassed by Korea i believe where almost everybody has broadband internet).

Tell me about it - I was in Korea for 2 and half years , i am so spoiled for internet - anywhere else in the world is as slow as hell ... compared to korea.

Atlanta, - will check it out

Florida Keys, - will absolutley be looked into ...

Aruba, - have to check this out !! someone help me out - is this a city/country ? part of Jamaica ? i got no idea. lol

Ibiza, Spain. - dont think so , havent been there but hav ebene to majorca and ibiza is even more commercialized than there so probably not - plus it is so expensive compared to the mainland - I dont really care about the beach so Madrid looks the place in Spain ..

Go some place where it's sunny all the time. California...Hawaii...hell just go to the Carribbean! Sounds like the sky is the limit so why not?
somewhere around LA, would be perfect , I love that place, but to find a place aropund LA that is
A) affordable and
B) cheap and
C) in a relatively safe neighbourhood and
D) not actually 50 miles from LA

- is gonna be just too hard ...

and sky isnt the limit - well just below it really... want to be comfortable but affordably comfortable if you know what I mean - I havent raelly thought of a price but I wouldnt want to be spending more than US$3-400 a month for somewhere to live...

THANK YOU everyone for your great ideas - I got alot of research to do ...

Oh my internet business is a paying-members Korean travel website / hotel bookings / packages - stuff like that
thank you again - any more ideas ???

If anyone actually has any ideas of prices for small houses/apartments in the places I am interested in - please let me know on this thread _!!

thanks
