Won't the pill stabilize those sort of irregularities?

yes it will, cuz the same thing happened to me when i wuz a bit younger...i'd go a month without havin my period, then the next month i'd have it and it'd be really heavy and almost non-stop. my folks had me go to the doctor and they put me on the pill...before long my period wuz back to normal.

nod

ok this sounds so cheesy, but the reason i don't want to go on the pill is becuase my boobs are big enough (36D) and I don't want them to grow anymore!! PLus i've seen my friends on th epill turn into emotional basketcases...i don't want to become that! LOL

i have a triple-d cup and my boobs still stayed the same... hell, it'd be nice if the pill made boobage shrink a little or sumfin...evillol i haven't been on the pill for about 4 years (shit's too expensive, man), but when i wuz on it i didn't have any mood swings or anything like that, from what i remember. the worst that happened is i had a killer headache when i first started takin 'em. reactions to the pill vary from woman to woman, i suppose.

Don't rule out the Pill just because of your friends. Everyone is different, and sometimes people blame medication for the things they're feeling/doing. Plus, there are literally dozens of different kinds of pills, and a doctor can find one that suits you. Not to mention, there are several "side" benefits to pills, like less menstrual cramping, getting rid of ovarian cysts, preventing certain types of cancers and clearing up skin.

Hey, if you wanted to go back on 'em, you should check out Planned Parenthood because some of the clinics sell pills on a sliding scale fee, based on income. And they always have a better price than the pharmacies.

Most women don't have any side effects at all--I didn't, and I was on them for years and years. The key is taking them everyday, at the same time everyday, and the doctor finding the right one for you.

Exactly. It's your doctor's job to find the one that's right for you. The first time I went on the pill I was a normal teenager and had a few zits on my chin. The doctor was all, "we'll clear that right up" and prescribed a pill that cleared up skin. Well, being the sensitive skin type I am, after 2 months my skin developed dry itchy patches on my face!! When I went in for a check-up the second doctor was like, "why, oh why did they prescribe this for you? I'll give you a better one." And the second prescription was PERFECT.

poor purplegypsy comfort - what a drag! i agree with the others... there is such a variety of options out there now at various price ranges, make sure you have exhausted all options before you put yourself through more of this.

personally, i think i'll just take my own animal rights advice and get myself spayed. nuts

I think you should see a doctor. Even if you don't get on the pill. Having a period for 2 weeks just doesn't sound right.

I'm large-breasted too (38D) and mine didn't grow anymore when I was on the pill, but I was a crazy basketcase...I balled for a half-an-hour after seeing 'Drop Dead Fred' lol (not that it's an unusual reaction wink )

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but this doesn't sound good. You may have a tumor or form of ovarian cancer. You should really get this checked.

Sounds like good advice... nod even though it could be something simple, it's smart to ask a doctor about it.

Make sure to get enough iron while you're bleeding this much. I once had my period for 3 months due to the depo shot and I became very anemic.

It's never a bad idea to take a multi-vitamin. And I agree with everyone else: you should go see your doctor.
