It's just a sign o' the times...we're living in a very conservative, hypermoralistic climate right now, so there's going to be less "racy" or "risky" entertainment out there, and what little bit we get will get pushed to the fringes.

hell, nothing is r-rated anymore. what used to be r-rated can now get a PG-13 rating with no problem. I think you have to say fuck 17 times to get an R, but only 15 times will get you a PG-13

The reason there are less R-rated movies out is because hollywood wants bigger box office receipts. They cut down and edit movies as much as possible in order to have the largest reach to their audiences. It's sad, because it means they don't give a crap about the movies they make, only the financial return they get on them.
