Losing Someone U Love U never realize how much someone means 2 u until they r dying. My stepdad is in his 60's and full of cancer. My mom lives across the hall from me in our apartment building and she's now in the room with him holding his hand. He's in so much pain and just wants 2 go.He asked my mom this morning how 2 i let go?He's been the only father i have known for 10 years. My dad passes away when i was 6.I hate seeing him suffer and my mom crying all the time.We think he is going 2 go in the next day or so.All i wanted 2 say in this topic was please people don't hold grudges and never take for granted ur family & friends because time passes so quickly and when soneone u love is dying all the things u thought were important really r just so small.Love one another and be kind.Much love 2 all ya.

He and your Mom both are very fortunate to have a caring and loving daughter like you. May you all find peace in the knowledge that your lives were richer for having had each other.

I lost my dad a year ago last nov and he had suffered so that it was almost a relief when he finally past away. I stayed up with him one night and we talked and sang and cried and I assured him that mom would be ok, I would take care of her.
Tell your dad that you love him talk to him and reassure him that you and your mom will be ok and then he can let go and his suffering will end. I know your sorrow but what helped me was knowing that my daddy was suffering so, and he was holding on for me and my mom and we had to see that and let him go in peace and let the suffering end. I'll keep you and your mom in my prayers If you need to talk I am here for you. take care We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. You poor, poor thing! I am so sorry to hear this. I know firsthand that it is hard to let go. I have lost both parents and I lost my nephew to cancer just last year. He was only 14 and he was one of my best buddies. Just try to remember all of the good things and appreciate what a gift he is.

I know exactly how you feel sweetie, my grandmother lived with us a while back and she was diagnosed with Alzheimers and that was a very hard thing to go through not just for her but for my whole family as well. There were days where she couldn't remember my name and then at the very end she couldn't even recognize me anymore and that was so painful to me cause her and I were very close. But I think the worst pain of all is when you lose someone to murder, my grandfather was murdered back in 1980 the day after my birthday and that was devistating and still hurts very much til this day. I just keep remembering that I know we will all be together one day and that they will be waiting for me with open arms when the time comes.

most of you are probably aware of the fact that my mom died when i wuz 7, so i can relate to this as well. at the time i wuz gullible, young, thought my parents would be around forever n'all. when my mom passed i wuz like, "now what?"
one of my fave uncles, uncle lanny, passed away about a year ago from cancer. though he wuz real kind-hearted he wuz an alcoholic, so most of my family wanted nothin to do with him half the time. he would tell me stories about my mom and everything, a lotta stuff nobody else in my family wouldn't tell me (the reasons why, fuck if i know) although i never got to know my mom real well.
