i believe in freedom...to do what we will...to say what we will...to think what we will.
i agree with whats being said about the whole PC thing controlling our thought processes and therefore our actions.
i think that sucks.
i belive in the feelings that people have..and if we cant be free enough to have feelings...well its no wonder the world goes to hell in a hand basket.

Percisely! But what I can't understand and still have not had a satisfactory answer to is if Icenine believes so strongly as to dedicate an entire thread to its concept, the disease of the "thought police", why is it that he feels it un "thought police"-like to practice certain political correctness on this site and use the "Report to Moderator" feature at all? I mean, every entity has its rules and regulations, not just this site, but every aspect of society. Come on now, are people r e a l l y that gullible? And besides all that, if what he says is truely what he practices, the fact that he found a need to label polictical correctness a disese is voilating the very principle of living in a world free from labels at being outspoken. So who diseased? Those that practice what they preach or those who don't practice what they preach? Don't people who are polictically correct have a right to be under his theory? No? Hence the source of my confusion. Is there not one person out there who can answer my question, namely whose more diseased and "small minded"? Those who are polictically correct or those who label those who are policitally correct diseased and small minded, thereby contradicting their logic?

"level-headed"? Ok. Then could one of you level headed people please answer my question. Whose more diseased, polictically correct people for being polite or people who label polictically correctness a disease and those who practice it "small minded", thereby contradicting the very concept of Icenine's theory of the "thought police"?

I, for one, would like to see a world where people do not walk on eggshells all the time. People like what they like and don't like what they don't like... there should be no shame in that. You are not a bad person just because you don't like what others like and you are not wrong for expressing your opinions on things. This is something that those who would label you are unaware of... you cannot control people's thoughts and any

well i think the real disease here is ignorance. however i believe what icenine was implying is how people are so on edge if you say the "wrong" thing. especially when there was no malice or prejudice intended. i believe people should speak their minds. if you are 'politically incorrect' and sound like an ass, then people eventually will treat you as such. it does appear as if the world is walking on egg shells. 'what did you call me?' 'i'm am not (fill in your own race) i am (fill in your own cultural preference)!!' and even in mentioning GOD and the he/she, his/her thing is getting a bit ridiculous. i consider myself to be conscious person and respect that people want to be addressed as whatever they wish to be. but i'm not going to go out of my way to study the 'how to be politically correct in a you offended me world' encyclopedia. some words or phrases do sound a bit ignorant and we should all think before we choose to say certain things. so i see your point but i understand where icenine is coming from.

How can somebody complain about being baited when the original post itself is baiting people by calling out anyone who tries to be politically correct?

I think it is quite possible that with some people, stating a claim of being non-PC, is just a smokescreen to allow for ones racist thoughts to be allowed without being seen as just that.

Funny you should ask that question. I was surfing through the Prince.org site and came upon this thread by Icenine:

http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=31587

hmmm seems somebody needs a course in being non-PC cause they ain't got a clue on how to allow others to speak their minds and live their lives, even if it's not to ones liking. Who they hurting anyway by talking and/or dressing a certain way?
