what exactly is the rationale behind that? are you reducing your testorone levels if you have sex and thus hindering your performance? i would think the frustration of not being able to have sex could have more of an adverse effect. so i guess masturbation is out of the question too?  You hit the nail on the head. The general consensus is that sex days before a match or the day of can hinder performance. I don't know if there is any medical evidence to support this claim but it has been around for some time. Personally speaking I get so pent up from not having sex, I just want to take it out on whoever's in the ring with me. Maybe that's the idea in the first place  And yes masturbation is off limits too.
