I went on a deep sea fishing trip yesterday.

The company I work for had its yearly fishing trip yesterday. We had to be in Dana Point California before 6:00am. We rented the biggest boat in the harbor (Dana Pride) exclusively for ourselves for the whole day. I caught a sand bass and a baracuda. One guy caught a baby shark but the deckhand said he had to throw it back in the water. We saw a whale, dolphins in large packs, jellyfish, sea lions, and a sun fish. We used live bait (sardines and anchovies) and some used squid. I had a great time. Anybody else like fishing?

I had a feeling that was why. To tell you the truth lately I have been thinking about the whole sport of fishing and realizing it is no different than hunting. I have always hated the whole idea of hunting innocent animals. I had never really thought of fishing in that sense until this last weekend. Not to get too graphic but watching them spear a large fish that had been caught to bring it in made me start thinking. Before the trip I called my mom to tell her i was going and she said whatever I catch I should just throw back. Just want to let you know I understand where your coming from and I got much love for you too!

I used to fish when I was younger, but I haven't gone for years. I leave that now to all my fanatic uncles who live to fish.

I know the feeling. When I was a kid I used to love to go fishing, but with the years came the reluctance and nowadays I can´t even look at those sad fish eyes in the freezer at the supermarket. Growing older does strange things to you.

Those poor lil fish minding their own business swimming in the ocean, some escaping near death from the larger fish and along comes us beasts trying to capture them for eating or as a sport. It seriously makes me think I should go back to being a vegetarian.
