PrintableI love my "old" 20 GB iPod. Sure, it is a bit bigger and heavier than the new ones but compared to the MD-player and 50+ Minidiscs I was carrying around before it´s nothing to complain about at all.
I like it even better now as I´ve installed the original software on it. The software that came with the iPod that I bought put a maximum volume level to all songs that was so low it was an insult to all heavy rock lovers (and most others too probably). I hate it when machines try to tell me what to do. If I want to blast my eardrums to pieces then I should be able to do so! Actually the maximum volume still feels a bit too low sometimes, but at least now I can have a decent listening experience most of the time. Has anybody else experienced this problem? It´s too bad because it´s the only real drawback with an otherwise fantastic product (it still feels like magic to me when the iPod devours my friends´ whole record collections within an hour). | |

i figure i'll give it another year or maybe two years and the ipod will be the ultimate lifestyle tool. i'm looking forward to a colour screen, maybe it will be a mobile phone, maybe you could download songs via the itunes store str8 to your ipod, etc, etc...it's bound to happen. but job well done. everytime i go out the damn door tho, someone is rocking the white headphones.  i agree, i am waiting too, seems kinda like cell phones, they get better, stronger, faster, smaller, more color, more do dads, less pricey ---------------------------------

My question is: do you really need to have itunes, that is Macos X, installed in your mac in order to use the ipod? | |
